Wilkes-Barre, PA

Police in Wilkes-Barre say a 41 year old woman was sexually assaulted this morning around 1am in the city in a wooded area between East Market Street and North Pennsylvania Ave.

Authorities say the victim states that she was walking in the parking lot of the Jewelcor building going towards the Turkey Hill store on North Pennsylvania Avenue when she was grabbed by the suspect to the nearby wooded area and proceeded to sexually assault her.

Officers say they are looking for a black male in his 30’s about 6 feet tall with average build then wearing red and white hooded sweatshirt.
