Scranton Police today announced the arrest of Jody Tighe after Tighe located and apprehended with the assistance of the US Marshal’s Service in the Allentown/Bethlehem area on 30 August 2018 on an active criminal warrant filed by Scranton Police.
Tighe was arrested and arraigned yesterday on felony aggravated arson and other related arson charges in connection with a large structure fire that occurred in the 600 block of Willow Street in mid-February 2018; An intense fire that resulted in the displacement of approximately (7) individuals including an off-duty Scranton Police officer.
Detectives allege that the arson was a case of retaliation against a rival love interest, and the Off-Duty Officer was not the intended target. Tighe was transported back to Scranton and is currently in custody within the Lackawanna County Prison awaiting scheduling of a preliminary hearing.
