Hanover, PA

Police in Hanover say they were called this morning to a domestic disturbance in the township on Diamond about 7:35 this morning. 

Subsequent to their investigation officers say they arrested 29year old Phillip Sturr for violating of a protection from abuse order following an earlier domestic disturbance.

Authorities say Sturr was taken into custody, arraigned on a single count of violation of a court order and transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and committed on $50,000.00 straight cash bail.

A hearing has been set for December 4, 2016 at 9:00am at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

Sturr was arrested in 2016 by Edwardsville  Police and charged with Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, and Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact. The misdemeanor simple assault was dismissed and Sturr pleaded guilty to the other charges and was fined and put on special probation as summary offenses are typically disposed of at the district court level with a fine.
