Police this morning spoke about shooting yesterday in the borough.
Saturday 10/06/18 at 5:23pm, Carlisle Borough Police responded to the report of a fight at the intersection of Cedar St and W Louther Streets in the borough. Police say the call immediately changed to a report of shots fired.
Authorities say as officers arrived and began obtaining information from witnesses the determined that multiple suspects fled from the area in vehicles and on foot.
Police say they continued to obtain suspect descriptions, witnesses, and evidence saying telling us the large number of individuals fleeing from the area resulted in some witnesses misidentified other witnesses as suspects.
Due to the incident’s proximity with Dickinson College activities the was notified and students were warned.
Police say they determined that multiple individuals had engaged in an altercation which escalated to shots being fired in the front parking lot of Quick Stop Deli at 601 W Louther St. The Cumberland County Forensic Unit was called to scene to assist with evidence identification/collection.
No injuries have been reported and the investigation continues as police try to identify suspects and witnesses. Anyone with information related to this shooting is asked to contact the Carlisle Police Department at or through our tip line below.
