York Police: Dogged police work leads arrest suspect in 4 burglaries, suspect also wanted in Illinois and Florida

York, PA

Between July 31, 2019 and August 15, 2019, the York City Police Department investigated four (4) related burglaries throughout the City.  These happened during the day while the victims were at work.  A number of items were taken in each of these incidents which included clothing for young adults, tvs, phones, and other electronics, some small amounts of money, and jewelry.

On August 16th, 2019 Officer Clark of the York City Police Department arrested Luis N. Perez-Santiago 36, for trespassing and resisting arrest.  Police say Perez-Santiago was initially deceitful about his identity and fought with Officer Clark when he attempted to take him into custody.  When police finally determined his name, they discovered that Perez-Santiago was a fugitive out of Illinois and Florida.

Police say Officer Clark asked Detective Fetrow for assistance with this case.  While looking through Perez-Santiago’s belongings, Detective Fetrow recognized several stolen items from previous burglary reports according to authorities.  Police say further investigation discovered that Perez-Santiago had also pawned more of the stolen items.  Lastly Perez-Santiago’s fingerprints were recovered at the scene of one of the burglaries police say.

The department said, “Due to the diligence of Officer Clark and the thoroughness of Detective Fetrow Perez-Santiago was arrested and four burglaries were solved.”
