York Police arrest 18 year old Kevin Hamilton in attempted armed carjacking, second suspect remains on the loose

York, PA

On October 7, 2019, at approximately 5:08 PM the York City Police Department dispatched to the 200 block of Willis Road for a report of an attempted carjacking with a gun.  Officers spoke with the victim who  told police he was in his car at this location when he was approached by two males, one of whom began talking to him.  As they were talking, the second male, identified as Kevin Hamilton, 18, of East York, approached the victim’s car with a gun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded he surrender the car.

Police say the victim was able to drive away but as he was doing so, Hamilton struck the back of the car with the gun, damaging it the car.  Police say surveillance video was obtained which identified Hamilton as one of the suspects.  Police obtained a warrant for him for Armed Robbery and other offenses.

Hamilton was then arrested at approximately 4:45 PM on October 8, 2019 in the area of Lincoln and Beaver St. Police say the second suspect has yet to be identified.
