Hanover man arrested following early morning home invasion, stabbing

Hanover, PA

Police in York County say Brandon Lee Moorefield, age 25 of Hanover Borough, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, burglary, criminal trespass, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, stalking, and criminal use of communication facility following a home invasion that occurred in the first block College Avenue.

Hanover Borough Police say they responded to a residence in the first block of College Avenue at approximately 4:26 am this morning, Saturday, February 23, 2019 for a disturbance. Authorities say they found that a 25 year old Hanover man had been stabbed inside the residence. Police also said they learned a 21 year old Hanover woman was forcibly taken from the residence by a male suspect and observed a blood trail leading from the location. The male victim told officers that Moorefield had stabbed him.

Police located say they Brandon Moorefield and the female victim, who had also been stabbed and was bleeding, in the 300 block of North Forney Avenue, where Moorefield was taken into custody.

Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Moorefield was turned over to the York County Sheriff’s Department for further disposition.
