Video: Fire overnight on North Duke Street in York City, spontaneous combustion of rags results in $5 million dollars in damage

York City Fire Crews were on the scene of a two alarm fire around 5AM this morning, August 23, 2019, at 133 N Duke Street with a fire through the roof.

No injuries were reported.

Fire officials updated this story just after noon, today, saying crews have cleared the scene of the structure fire at 133 N. Duke St. The cause of the fire is listed as spontaneous combustion of rags in the office of the Panaderia la Redencion bakery. The fire caused $5 million in damage ($2 million structural and $3 million in contents).

Currently, all businesses within the shopping center are closed as a result of smoke damage throughout the strip mall.
