York Regional Police: car strikes school bus in accident this morning, no students hurt, car driver lightly wounded

York, PA

A vehicle struck a school bus head on this morning on Cape Horn Rd near Windsor Rd while the bus was stopped about ready to load children according to York Regional Police. There were no injuries to the children or bus driver.  Police say the driver of the vehicle had minor injuries.

The information police say they have at this time is a vehicle traveling northbound on Cape Horn Rd stopped for the school bus that had stopped in the southbound lane and had its yellow lights flashing. The red Honda in the picture was also traveling northbound on Cape Horn Rd and swerved into the opposite lane to avoid hitting the vehicle that had already stopped for the school bus, but instead hit the school bus head on.

Police say the investigation is continuing and anyone that witness anything and hasn’t already spoken with the police is asked to contact Officer Schiffhauer (717) 741-1259
