Steelton Borough Police say 3 men made their job easier by crashing in the alley behind the the police station. Last night, December 3, 2018, officers say they were in the Steelton Police parking lot when a vehicle driving through the alley struck a parked car.
Officers say they then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle determining the driver, Tarajah Hunter, was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Authorities say they employed their canine, Noro, and the dog detected drugs inside the vehicle. Police say they conducted a search of the vehicle recovering a Smith and Wesson 40 caliber handgun with obliterated serial number as well as bag of suspected marijuana resulting in the the back seat passenger, Dashawn Fains, being charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number, possession of instruments of a crime, possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Terence Johnson who was the front seat passenger was charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
The driver in this case, Hunter, was charged in 2011 with Terroristic Threats and Victim or Witness Intimidation in Harrisburg. The case has not been resolved and court records indicate the court is in inactive status awaiting preliminary hearing.
