In the early hours of Saturday November 3, 2018 police in Susquehanna Township say they were called to the 3600 block of Brookridge Terrace Harrisburg PA for two males sitting in a truck possibly doing drugs. An officer approached on foot and located two males in an SUV that was running at the time. Officers say they made contact with the driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled the substance.
Authorities say the male refused to identify himself, turned the truck off and removed the keys from the ignition then exited the car and throwing a cigarette on the ground. The male then appeared to try to re-enter the vehicle but instead fled from the officer. As additional officers from Susquehanna Township Police arrived as back up the suspect was captured. Police say the suspect fought with them refusing to follow commands. He was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody.
The suspect was identified later identified as Brian Yates. Yates had warrants out of Dauphin, York and Allegheny Counties. He was arrested and charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest, Scattering Rubbish and Disorderly Conduct. He was taken to the Dauphin County Booking Center for arraignment. and subsequently released on $5000 unsecured bail.
