According to authorities on January 7th 2019 at 9:43am Williamsport Bureau of Police units were dispatched to the Turkey Hill Convenience Story located at 700 Washington Blvd for a reported robbery in progress involving a female wearing a puffy coat.
Police say their preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown black female entered the store and, after a short while, grabbed an amount of cash from a money bag on the counter before fleeing east on Washington BlVD. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
Yesterday January 8th 2019 at 3:09 pm Williamsport Bureau of Police units were emergency dispatched to Cupps Vacuum Sevice located at 1001 Washington Blvd for a robbery that just occurred police say. A description of the suspect was broadcast to responding officers. Again the preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown black female entered the business, pointed a knife at a victim and demanded money. Police say the victim handed the suspect approximately $200.00 cash and the suspect grabbed the money before fleeing from the scene.
After committing the robbery at Cupps Vacuum Service the unidentified suspect was observed by a responding officer fleeing down a nearby alley entering a nearby residence. Police say officers responded to this residence and made contact with the suspect, who was identified as Jahnasia Wiggs of Williamsport, PA. WIGGS was taken into custody and, during the subsequent investigation, confessed to committing both the theft at Turkey Hill and the robbery at Cupps Vacuum Service according to police. Officers say they eventually were able to conduct a search of Wiggs’s residence and items related to both incidents were recovered.
Wiggs has been arraigned on charges for Robbery (3 counts,) Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Simple Assault and Theft By Unlawful Taking and committed to Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $90,000.00 bail. Wiggs, at a later time, will also be charged for theft-related charges for offenses committed at Turkey Hill.
