Williamsport promotes three officers in restructuring

Williamsport, PA

As part of a restructuring in the Williamsport Police Department, the bureau announced the promotion of three officers.

– Sergeant Marlin Smith II was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will be in command of the Morning Watch (midnight to 8am) patrol shift. Lt. Smith is a 12-year veteran of the Bureau who has previously served as a patrol officer, Corporal, Agent and most recently as a Sergeant. Lt. Smith is a member of the Special Response Team (S.R.T.).

– Agent Frederick Miller IV was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will be in command of the Night Watch (4pm to 12pm) patrol shift. Lt. Miller is a 21-year veteran of the Bureau who has previously served as a patrol officer, Corporal, Sergeant and most recently as an Agent in the Criminal Investigations unit.

– Corporal Justin Ottaviano was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and will be the acting Watch Commander of the Day Watch (8am to 4pm) patrol shift. Sgt. Ottaviano is an 11- year veteran of the Bureau who had previously served as a patrol officer and most recently as a Corporal on the Flex shift. Sgt. Ottaviano also serves as the Bureau’s training supervisor.
