Williamsport Police Chief makes remarks about funding K-9 program

Williamsport, PA

Williamsport Chief of Police, Damon Hagan, released the following statement referencing bringing back a canine unit to the department. The Chief did not elaborate futher.

“For many years in the past, the Williamsport Bureau of Police had a thriving Police K9 program. For reasons involving attrition, lack of interest and budgetary constraints, the program became extinct.”

“The new Police Administration has identified many achievable goals for the Bureau of Police. One of them is the establishment of a new Police K9 program within the ranks of the city police. We are going to be seeking funding for such a program in the near future. We welcome your comments.”
