Wilkes-Barre Police: Pregnant woman assaulted, threatened with gun

Wilkes-Barre, PA

Wilkes-Barre Police were called to Geisinger South Hospital for the report of a pregnant 28 year old woman  who was assaulted by her boyfriend last night, February 1, 2019 at 10:20PM

Police say the woman alleged the suspect punched her in the face causing her lips to bleed. She also told police he then punched her in the stomach and placed a loaded handgun to her head threatening to kill her.

30 year old Savante Hopkins was arrested by police and lodged at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility after arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Rick Cronauer who set bail at $20,000. Hopkins remains jailed unable to make bail.
