Wilkes-Barre Police arrest alleged shooting spree suspect Onje Crowder

Wilkes-Barre, PA

The Wilkes-Barre Police Department sas they’ve arrested  Onje Crowder on the charges of Aggravated Assault and related charges. Police say the charges are the result of an extensive investigation into the spree of shooting incidents which have occurred in the City of Wilkes-Barre, PA. 

Onje Crowder has been charged with:

• Aggravated Assault—18 Pa.C.S.A. § 2702(a)(1) (F1) (2 counts)
• Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure—18 Pa.C.S.A. § 2707.1(a) (F3) (2 counts)
• Recklessly Endangering Another Person—18 Pa.C.S.A. § 2705 (M2) (2 counts)

On March 18, 2018, the Wilkes-Barre Police Detective/Patrol Divisions, Pennsylvania State Police Troop P Vice Unit, FBI safe Streets Task Force, and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into the address of 79 Bradford Street Wilkes-Barre PA as being a location that was occupied by Onje Crowder.

Wilkes-Barre Detective applied for and were issued a search warrant for the listed address. Investigators executed a high risk search warrant at the address. Police say Crowder was located in the basement area hiding and was taken into custody without incident.

Crowder was taken to Wilkes-Barre Police for processing and arraignment.

Police say a second search warrant was applied for in reference to an additional drug investigation and the investigation continues.
