Officers in Luzerne County say they responded to Maxwell Street in Wilkes-Barre after a woman called for help on January 5, 2018 just after 10pm.
Wilkes-Barre Police say Andrew Sherperis, 31 years old of Wilkes-Barre, took the phone and hung it up before police could get much more information. Upon arrival, the suspect was intoxicated and refused to cooperate with directives from police authorities say.
Police say Sherperis resisted arrest as they sought to take him into custody. The suspect was arraigned on resisting arrest and other charges.
Sherperis has no known criminal history in Pennsylvania.
