Video: Pittston Police searching for person who defaced Columbus statue with purple paint

The Pittston City Police Department is investigation an act of vandalism to the Christopher Columbus Statue on South Main Street. On August 2nd 2019 at 3am an actor ran up to the statue and covered it with purple paint. The Police are asking the public for assistance with identifying the actor. The Pittston City Police Department is investigation an act of vandalism to the Christopher Columbus Statue on South Main Street. Authorities say on August 2, 2019, around 3am an individual ran up to the statue and covered it with purple paint.

Police are asking the public for assistance with identifying the actor. Anyone with information is asked to call Pittston Police at (570) 654-2425.
