Luis Gutierrez, 19, of Hazleton wanted by McAdoo Police, found 90 individual bags, of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl after he runs from traffic stop

McAdoo, PA

Police in McAdoo say they attempted to stop a vehicle that was traveling the wrong way on S. D Street in the Borough, an alleyway. The vehicle crossed Blaine Street and abruptly parked to the rear of an apartment building. The male driver exited the vehicle, looked at police, and ran into the apartment building. Police say they attempted to locate the driver but  he ran through the apartment building, out the front door, and fled on Kennedy Drive.

Police were able to talk to a passenger and identify the driver as Luis Gutierrez. A check of his license showed that it was suspended. A check of the registration that was on the vehicle, showed that the plate belonged on a Toyota but the vehicle in question was a Volkswagen. The inspection was also expired March 2019, as a result police towed the vehicle.

Authorities say they later executed a search warrant on the vehicle and located 9 bundles, approximately 90 individual bags, of suspected heroin/fentanyl inside the vehicle.

Luis Gutierrez is charged with a felony for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is charged with misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and fleeing and eluding police. He is also charged with 6 summary traffic offenses.

McAdoo Police currently have a felony arrest warrant for Mr. Gutierrez. Anybody with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact us through this page or by calling 570-929-2590
