Kingston Police issue statement following school threat

Kingston, PA

Police in Kingston issued the following statement after a school threat this morning:

Within the last two weeks, the Kingston Municipal Police Department has had three incidents of written threats of violence at the Wyoming Valley West Middle School, 201 Chester Street, Kingston, PA 18704. The Kingston Police Department, and the Wyoming Valley West School Officials have conducted investigations into these threats, in which two juvenile students have been arrested. The Kingston Police Department will be taking an active aggressive approach throughout the rest of the school year, to ensure that children and teachers are safe.
* ALL THREATS WILL BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AND PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT. *
This morning, the Kingston Police Department and Wyoming Valley West School Officials took proactive measures in combating these threats with metal detectors and security checks. The security check conducted today was not related to the Wyoming Valley West High School.
