Hanover Township Police Department arrest Christopher Benjamin, attempted weapon purchase

Hanover, PA

The Hanover Township Police say they arrested 40 year old Christopher Benjamin of Wilkes-Barre following an investigation into the unlawful attempt to purchase a firearm at Nimrod Haven Sporting Goods store in Hanover Township on October 26, 2018.

Police say Benjamin was prohibited from purchasing the weapon due to a prior criminal conviction. Benjamin was charged with 1 count of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities.

A preliminary hearing was held before District Justice Spagnola on March 27, 2019, and Benjamin plead guilty to the charge at Luzerne County Central.
