Hanover Township Police arrest Russell Fred Tilley III in Meth Lab case

Hanover, PA

A joint operation was conducted Sunday, March 24, 2019, with the Hanover Township Police Hanover Township Narcotics Unit and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force resulting in the arrest Russell Fred Tilley III for possessing methamphetamine Lab making chemicals.

Hanover Township police say they responded to the report of a domestic assault at an apartment on Boland Avenue in Hanover Township. Police say while on scene an officer observed chemicals that are used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Narcotic officers arrived at the scene and took possession of the following chemicals: Liquid Fire, pseudoephedrine cold medicine tablets, Lighter fluid, Pure Lye, cold packs, contents of cold packs, Lithium batteries, Iodized Salt, tube/hoses and a funnel according to police

Following his arrest police say, Russell Tilley III, was transported to the Hanover Township Police Department and was read and signed a Constitutional Rights Waiver form. According to investigators Tilley III admitted that he does “cook” to make methamphetamine and had just brought all the chemicals from another location.

A field test was conducted and showed positive for methamphetamine.

The evidence was seized prior to the subject starting the cooking process.

Possession of Methamphetamine (misdemeanor) 
Precursors and Chemicals (Felony)

The subject was transported to the Luzerne County Prison for overnight arraignment. Bail was set at $50,000.00 10%. The subject was remanded to the Luzerne County Prison.
