The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 3/5/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations 37 West Bar and Grill was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Pennsylvania’s food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • Bar’s soda gun nozzle, a food contact surface, was observed to have mold-like growth/residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Frying pan from breakfast, a food contact surface, was observed to have old egg residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Bar ice scoop and several glasses observed sitting in a dish pan of dirty, scum-like water, a food contact surface, and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Bar’s soda gun holder, a food contact surface, was observed to have heavy mold-like residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Walk-in cooler shelving, a food contact surface, was observed to have mold-like residue and was not clean to sight and touch.
  • Tableware for bar customers not displayed so that only handles are touched by consumers and employees.
