According to State Police at Hazleton, Robert Aigeldinger, 49, solicited the act from a truck driver on August 23, while taking part in a commercial vehicle inspection detail on Interstate 81 in Dorrance Township. A Motor Carrier Enforcement Officer faces criminal coercion and official oppression charges after soliciting a sexual act in exchange for leniency on violations.
An investigation is ongoing, though Aigeldinger faces the two misdemeanor charges, and is suspended without pay.
Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers are civilian employees of the Pennsylvania State Police, and are not sworn law enforcement officers and do not carry firearms. They serve throughout the commonwealth to assist in efforts to enforce commercial motor vehicle laws.
