On January 8, 2019 Northern Lancaster County Regional Police (NLCRPD) say they responded to a reported hit & run crash located in the 500 block of W. Lexington Road, Penn Township at 1:13 PM.
A witness told police a blue SUV with a female driver in the vicinity of a telephone pole that was damaged and lying on the ground. The witness also told police the female driver of this SUV was observed by the witness driving away from the scene.
NLCRPD officers say they checked the area locating the blue SUV described by the witness at the intersection of Doe Run Road and Indian Village Road with significant damage to the car and air bag deployment. The female operator was identified as Nicole Danielle Zahm, aged 37 of the 60 block of S. Hazel Street, Manheim. Police say she was not injured and determined to be the only occupant of the car and the individual that struck the downed pole.
After completing their investigation Zahm was charged with the following offenses; Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property and Careless Driving.
