Police in Ephrata looking for suspect in hit and run that injured pedestrian

Ephrata, PA

Ephrata Police are investigating a Hit and Run Pedestrian accident at the intersection of East Main (US 322) and Spring Garden Streets which occurred at approximately 3:05pm on October 22, 2019.

Police say an Ephrata resident, who lives near the intersection, was crossing the intersection in a crosswalk when a white sedan struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was thrown over the vehicle and to the ground sustaining injuries to his face, head and right leg. According to police the driver stopped, yelled at the pedestrian then fled the area east on East Main St (US 322). The pedestrian was transported to Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A witness and the victim described the vehicle as an older white sedan, which was initially driving on Spring Garden St and turned to travel east on East Main St where it struck the pedestrian. The witness and victim also described the driver as an older white male with gray and white hair and an unshaven face.
