Repeat sex offender gets 15-30 years in deal with Lancaster County DA after fleeing to Californiaread more
Law-enforcement officials are looking for a Lancaster County man who skipped a recent court hearing regarding custody of his children. Police are asking the public for information about 29-year-old Harvey David Eaton III and his two pre-teenage daughters.
Investigators say they believe Eaton is with the two girls: 9-year-old Skye and 2-year-old Starlah. Anyone with information about Eaton or the girls is asked to contact their local police department or Lancaster County Detective John Wettlaufer at the District Attorney’s Office (717-299-8100). Authorities say Eaton does not have a permanent address. He could be at a hotel or a friend’s home.
Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency has been granted custody of the children. However, Eaton (and the children) did not appear for an August 2, 2019, hearing in Lancaster County Court. The girl’s mother is not able to care for them at this point.
Police believe Eaton skipped the hearing because he does not want to lose custody of his children. Authorities say Eaton has been charged Eaton with two felony counts of interference of custody of children. A warrant was issued for Eaton’s arrest.
A Lancaster County judge previously granted custody of the girls to Lancaster County Children and Youth. At this point, authorities say they are not releasing information on reasons for the custody action.
Investigators say they do not consider the current situation an abduction, but they have been taking action in recent days to locate Eaton and the children. There is no indication at this time that the children are endangered.
