Quarryville, PA

At 7:06 pm Saturday evening, Quarryville Fire Department and multiple mutual aid companies were sent to 43 Stony Hill Road in Eden Township for a reported house fire. As units responded, a large column of smoke could be seen in the area.

Chief Jeremy Welk reported arriving with a 2.5 story dwelling fully involved. The house had fire throughout and a defensive operation was ordered according to authorities

For the next several hours, volunteers worked on overhauling and hitting hot spots, which was not easy work due to the fact a large portion of the dwelling had collapsed.

The homeowner, Michael F McLaughlin, was unavailable for comment.
