Derry Township arrest Lower Paxton man for attempted homicide, other charges

Hershey, PA

On March 22nd at 2:10 am, Derry Township Police say they responded to a residence in the Palmdale neighborhood of Hershey for a reported domestic dispute.

Police say an ex-boyfriend of the victim gained entry into her residence while the victim was away. Upon her return home, she entered her residence where, police say, she encountered 35 year old Manuel Gonzalez from Lower Paxton Township waiting inside.

Authorities say a struggle ensued resulting in Gonzalez choking the victim until she was able to free herself and flee from the residence.

The victim was transported to a local medical facility where she is undergoing treatment of her injuries.

Police say Gonzalez and arrested near his residence by the Lower Paxton Township Police Department.  Gonzalez has been charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Strangulation, Terroristic Threats, Unlawful Restraint, Simple Assault and Trespass.  Gonzalez is currently being held at the Dauphin County Prison without bail.
