East Pennsboro Township Police: Two people arrested in assault on 5 year old child, left hand-print on child’s face

Enola, PA

On August 1, 2019, the East Pennsboro Township Police Department were contacted by the Cumberland County Children and Youth Services (CYS) and advised they had received a report of suspected child abuse. CYS provided  police with a photograph of a hand print shaped bruise on a 5-year-old child’s face. The investigation revealed that there were previous occurrences of injury to the child to include fat swollen lips, bruised eyes and other bruising on or about the child’s face in August 2018, and a hand print shaped bruise on the child’s back in April 2019.

Police say they determined that the injuries were caused by Kenneth A. Hostetter, 40, of the 500 block of West Cumberland Road, Enola, and Christian Rose Coleman, 26, of the 2200 block of Lambs Gap Road, Enola, failed to report the injuries and also lied about how the most recent injury.

Police say they cannot release information beyond saying the suspects there is a caregiving relationship with the child. 

Coleman was charged with Endangering welfare of children. Hostetter was charged with Aggravated assault, Simple assault, Harassment, and Endangering welfare of children.
