The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania says Brandon L. Heaton, age 35, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 21 months’ in federal prison yesterday by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo for possession of stolen mail and bank fraud.
Heaton previously pleaded guilty to stealing mailed checks from mail boxes, forging and depositing the checks, and withdrawing money from his accounts between September 6-12, 2017.
Judge Caputo also ordered Heaton to pay $14,936.95 in restitution and to serve three years probation following his prison sentence.
