On December 8, 2018, at 4:27 pm, the East Pennsboro Township Police say they were called to check Dunkin Donuts, 429 N. Enola Road, for a report of a reckless driver in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, officers said witness directed officers to a vehicle parked across two parking stalls in the parking lot with a female slumped over which had struck another vehicle.
Police say the driver, later identified as Kimberly B. Wood, 36, of the 100 block of Summer Lane, Enola, was still slumped over with a beer bottle in her left hand with the contents were pouring down her left leg. When the officer opened the door to the vehicle, he removed the beer bottle from her hand which caused the female rouse.
According to police when asked how much she had to drink this evening, she stated that she “doesn’t drink”. Wood, clearly intoxicated, was transported to the hospital by EMS due to her level of intoxication. Wood was charged with DUI, Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property (hit & run), and Restriction on Alcoholic Beverages (open container) and will face a preliminary hearing to be scheduled later. Charges were issued January 7, 2019 by the police.
