On January 1, 2019, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Harrisburg Police say they responded to City Island for the report of a robbery.
The victim told police he was walking on City Island, on the east side of the island to the back side of the baseball stadium. As he was walking, he noticed two males with masks on walking towards him. The victim noticed this and walked down the stairs towards the wooden overlook area by the Pride of the Susquehanna. As soon as he walked down to this area, the two males approached him from behind.
According to authorities one of the males, police identified as Sakeem White, demanded money and threatened to the shoot the victim. White kept his right hand in his pocket as if he was holding a firearm but never displayed one. White also stated, “That if you call the police that I will come find you and shoot you.” The other male, identified as Christian Falcon, reached into the victim’s pockets taking his belongings. White also demanded the victim’s cell phone. The males then told the victim to take off his jacket and then they fled south towards the walking bridge.
Police say the victim was able to get a bystander to call 911, who then gave the descriptions of the males. Officers say they found the males walking southbound on 3rd Street towards Walnut Street. These males were detained and then positively identified by the victim as the suspects. According to police Falcon was in possession of the victim’s cell phone and one of his bank cards.
Both Sakeem White and Christian Falcon were charged with Conspiracy – Robbery and Terroristic Threats. Bail was set at $25,000. Both face a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge David O’Leary on January 28, 2018 at 9:15AM.
The 20 year old White was arrested in 2017 for Possession Of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia Charges, The case remains pending, in part, due to White’s repeated failure to appear for court hearings.
Lower Allen Township Police arrested White in May of last year, while wanted for failing to appear for the earlier case, on additional charges of 2 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Conspiracy – Receiving Stolen Property, and Loitering And Prowling At Night Time. In that case White pleaded no contest to Receiving Stolen Property and was given 33 days to 23 months with permission for immediate parole with an appropriate home plan on November 28, 2018.
The 22 year old Falcon was sentenced to 3 years intense probation for charges including Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver and other charges he pleaded guilty to in October 2018. White was charged with similar charges in 2017 and saw those charges reduced in a plea agreement later that year and was given 1 year probation.
In 2015 Falcon pleaded guilty to escape and was given 3 to 12 months in county prison.
