Police: Man stopped for high beam violation arrested after giving false information

Carlisle, PA

 February 3, 2019 at approximately 10:18PM Carlisle police say they observed a vehicle traveling with its high beams activated against oncoming traffic. Authorities say a traffic stop was initiated on the 100 block of of North Hanover Street.

Police alleged the driver operator provided police a false name, date of birth and address.

Further investigation determined that the man was actually Akkim Atkins and Atkins was operating with a suspended drivers license police say.

Atkins was taken into custody and  charged with False ID to Law Enforcement and Driving Under Suspension.

The 32 year old Atkins has been stopped by police seven times for traffic offenses since 2014 and briefly jailed in October 2018 for driving while suspended.
