Police: Man admits smoking pot while driving, charged with DUI other charges

Carlisle, PA

On March 3rd 2019 Middlesex Township Police say they stopped a vehicle on the Harrisburg Pike for a traffic violation. During the encounter, officers say they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle.

According to police the driver,  Miguel Cruz, admitted to smoking marijuana while driving, just hours prior, and also admitted to possessing marijuana in the vehicle.

Police say during the vehicle search marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered and Cruz was arrested for Driving Under the Influence,  Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Cruz was transported to Carlisle Regional Medical Center for a legal blood draw  and Cumberland County Booking Center for processing.
