On January 5, 2019, at approximately 1am, Harrisburg Police say they responded to the Harvey Taylor Bridge for a male that may have been involved in an accident earlier on 3rd & Forster Street.
As authorities arrived on scene and they say the male fled. Police say they observed the male had some type of head injury. The male went to the bridge wall and jumped over. Officers report hearing the man strike the water but did not see him in the water.
The Harrisburg Fire Department and River Rescue were summoned and began a search. The search continued on Saturday and Sunday but the man has not been found.
Through their investigation police believe the male that jumped into the river is 37-year-old Sean Walton. Walton has been diagnosed with mental health condition and has made threats of suicide in the past.
