Middlesex Township Police arrest Akeem Ellis for Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance

Carlisle, PA

On March 26, 2019, at 9:13PM, Middlesex Township Police Department say they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation.

According to authorities Akeem Ellis was identified as the driver.  Officers say they detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Ellis admitted to possessing marijuana inside the vehicle.

Police say during the vehicle search, marijuana and an open bottle of alcohol was discovered inside of the vehicle.

Following sobriety tests police say due to drug impairment indicators and drug possession Ellis was arrested and transported to a hospital for legal blood.

Ellis was then transported to Cumberland County Booking Center to be processed on Driving Under the Influence and drug charges.
