The Susquhanna Township Police Chief Robert A. Martin, today, released a statement on the passing of long beloved time police officer Lieutenant Robert “Bo” McCallister who served the department and the community for 28 years:


The Susquehanna Township Police Department is saddened by the passing of our Hero, Lieutenant Robert “Bo” McCallister. Lieutenant McCallister served from 1975 to 2003. His service spanned four decades, and he served in numerous Investigative and Supervisory positions throughout his Career. In February of 1981, then Sergeant McCallister was shot in the line of duty during a Bank Robbery at the Fulton Bank along Nationwide Drive. It was a testament to Lieutenant McCallister’s character, resolve, and unwavering commitment to his family and fellow Officers that he battled back to duty and completed his career. Lieutenant McCallister was a mentor to many Officers through his four decade career. His service, leadership, and guidance will abide for decades to come for the members of the Susquehanna Township Police Department
