Harrisburg Police arrest woman following early morning Jimmy John’s robbery

Harrisburg, PA

On January 6, 2019, at approximately 3:20AM Harrisburg Police say they responded to Jimmy John’s for a report of an active theft.  The employee stated that he had closed the store for the evening and was cleaning up and that the suspect, Angela Britt, came to the door and he let her in. 

Witnesses told police she was tried to purchase some items.  The employee had the drawer open and Britt reached in and grabbed the cash then tried to flee the store with all those items.  According to police the employee physically stopped her and a scuffle ensued. 

According to authorities, during the scuffle, Britt bit the employee’s arm. 

The Police arrived a short time later. Officers say they observed Britt  standing inside the store just on the other side of the front glass wall.  Upon seeing police, she allegedly  began throwing a table and chairs behind the counter.

Police say Britt was ordered to come outside.  She eventually complied and was taken into custody.  According to officers once in custody she tried to spit at the employee and officers.  

Britt has been subsequently charged with one count each of Robbery, Institutional Vandalism, and Simple Assault.
