Harrisburg Police arrest Nichols Preston on robbery, strangulation, other charges

Harrisburg, PA

On March 24, 2019, at approximately 9:15 pm, Harrisburg Police say they responded to a domestic incident at a residence on the 200 block of N 2nd Street.

Officers say the suspect, Preston Nichols, had been hanging out with the victim when he began arguing with her.  The argument turned physical and Nichols grabbed the victim by her neck, shaking her police say.  He is alleged to have  thrown her to the ground and choked her, as well.

Police say Nichols also held a kitchen knife to her throat and threatened that she would die as well as  kicked and punched the victim and took her cell phone out of her hand before he left.

Authorities say when they made entry into the apartment, Nichols jumped out of the window and onto the rear deck of McGrath’s Pub.  He entered the bar and locked himself in the bathroom.  He eventually surrendered to Police.

Nichols was taken to a local hospital for treatment as he had sustained a cut to his hand.  He is being charged with Robbery, Strangulation, Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, and Disorderly Conduct.
