On December 22, 2018 at approximately 4:56am Carlisle Police say they were dispatched to the intersection of N. East St. and E. North St., Borough of Carlisle following the report of a vehicle in the intersection. Carlisle Police say they located a tan Chevrolet Cavalier in the intersection with the driver asleep behind the wheel.
Authorities identified the driver as Jake Burkepile. Police say after roadside tests Burkepile was determined to be under the influence of alcohol to a degree he was incapable to safely drive, operate, or be in actual physical control of a motor vehicle. Burkepile was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing.
Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Birbeck’s Office for DUI-Highest Rate, DUI-General Impairment, and a summary traffic violation. Bond information is not currently available.
Jakepike has no known criminal history in Pennsylvania.
